Re: Shared Mem FAQ's, was malloc...

Joe books works good in many instances for 7 as well. I have both and for
those of you who are waiting on a copy of my scripts, let me tell you how
good his scripts are. I first combined the seeuser and watchhot scripts
for my 5 engine on AIX 3.2. When my 7 engine came along 5 months later, I
ported that script to my New machine with Informix 7 and AIX 4.1 changed
the tbstat to onstat, added some parameters to look out for as explained in
Suto's book and it ran like a champ!
I later created a script to look at the onstat -g ses
(for those new DBAs this looks at each user's session, down to SQL they
are running).
So if you are a NEW DBA get these two books!!!!!, once you get my scripts
you will need them to understand the data you are looking at.
And YES these two scripts and of course those books helped me resolve
and identify some problems with my 7.x engine. It even caught an Informix
bug the Informix Tech could not resolve, but via those script I was able
to find the problem!
