Definitely not.
Read the relevant section in the OMG. There is an onmode option to run =
(onmode -b???)
Reverting the database to the prior version is one of the pre-release =
checks we do with any upgrade (to ensure that it can be done). If you =
follow the methodology then it will work fine. If you don't then all =
sorts of problems occur. =20
The version to revert to will not correspond exactly to the version number =
EG reverting to 7.14 requires you to revert (I think) to 7.10.ud1.
The reason for this is that Informix only cares about versions where the =
internal tables have changed in structure. The details are all in the OMG =
for release 7.23.
If you can spare the resource then I really recommend staying with 7.23. =
7.14 is a backwards port of 7.20 and has some strange quirks. It will =
also be going out of full support (I think) in July.
7.23 works differently than 7.14 but have you trying tuning it to reduce =
the resource issues that you have? It responds pretty well to tuning.
