Yep, it is in production. I had fun doing all the preliminary setup and configuration. You know, it's kind of hard to make RAID 5 run fast. The new controllors do help and I pulled a trick or two!! Resident Tables help, too --- but I have no idea how much. I didn't have time to actually measure the performance improvement using Resident Tables. After having some initial Kernel problems (setting the parameters as outlined in the machine notes does HELP!!!), everything appears to be running fine. Oh, and management really likes it that a process that use to take 4-5 hours to run, now completes in 45 minutes! The old box had a LOT of i/o contention and was a slower 4 processor box. One more thing --- Legato and a DLT is a GREAT way to archive the database!
