creating batch file for NT using dbaccess
Posted in 1998
Does anybody know any reason why you can't create a batch file
to execute several sql statements using dbaccess in windows nt,
I am able to run under Unix.
The file seems to execute except when I check the tables the
changes did not take.
It displays an old schema for the database.
At the beginning of the script I declare all the informix variables
and the at command (cron job) I used the /cmd /c command.
Even running the bat file at the command like I get the same results.
It only takes the changes if I individual run the dbaccess at the prompt.
informix don't support batch files.
Do I have to use the command line utilities window instead of the
command prompt window ?
If I need the command line utilities do you know what exe file that is ?
I tried to find any information on options for dbaccess but there seems
to be no documentation for it.
I am currently using dbaccess -e databasename scriptname.
I tried just dbaccess databasename scriptname.
system : NT 4.0 with SP3 and Informix OWS 7.22UC1.
Thanks
