I am asking because I have problems with older versions of Informix+AIX (sometimes is Informix "Blocked" forever). Nebojsa

Few seconds in general.
That CKPT in my abnormal status 'onstat -p', is just purely by chance.
I just dumped onstat -p and at that moment engine was in CKPT by chance.
Nothing to do with my problem now.(= High sys cpu usage of SOC vp.)
But! I also had had problem of blocking forever in CKPT.
In that situation, one CPU vp process consumes 100% of cpu, and others are 0%.
(Because my box had 12 cpu, sar reports 8% usr cpu, 0% sys, 92% idle)
And there is no activity in disk I/O. Just blocked in CKPT without accessing disk.
Engine recovers from hang only if I kill all current sessions, (or, of course restart engine).
Of course I reported this problem to Tech. support of local Informix corp.(South Korea),
and he reported it to Informix at U.S about a month ago, but no accurate solution yet.
But anyway, that CKPT hanging was disappeared after upgraded to 9.21.FC4 couple of weeks ago.
I hope this is of some help to you.
