I-NET Question
Posted in 1992
Hello Netland: We're in the process of hooking up two 486 PCs running SCO Unix 3.2.4 with a Informix 4GL apllication a few hundred miles apart. It would sure make our lives easier if we can use I-NET across telephone lines connected by Telebit Trailblazer Plus modems. Otherwise we're going to have to unload several tables, UUCP it across, and then reload it:-(. The question is has anyone out there ever used INET over a SLIP line? How was the responce time? Can anyone think of a better way of hooking up two machines a few hundred miles a part economically? Pulling a T1 is out of the question right now... Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
