999: Not implemented yet.
Hi All,
I am having a strange problem while executing the following query.
Please note that i have two instances on the same machine and i am trying to
execute this query from 1st instance and i accesses the database of the 2nd
instance.
Can someone help me by telling that if it is a limitation in informix and
where this limitation is stated in documentations:
When I execute the below query, it gives me the error:
"999: Not implemented yet."
select * from (
select tabid from dbname@rss_tcp:"informix".systables WHERE tabid = 1
union
select tabid from dbname@rss_tcp:"informix".systables WHERE tabid = 1
);
Please note that i am executing the above query by sitting in different
instance (remote query).
The same query works fine if i exclude the outer select, (like this):
select tabid from dbname@rss_tcp:"informix".systables WHERE tabid = 1
union
select tabid from dbname@rss_tcp:"informix".systables WHERE tabid = 1
I will be waiting for the quick support/help.

UNIONS in subqueries are not supported in distributed queries.
However, I don't understand the need to make the UNION a derived table
query, just issue the inner query directly. The results are the same and
you save the overhead of creating, loading, and reading back the local temp
table that would have to be created to support the derived table.
