Long string inserts (Perl API)

Hi everyone! I have encountered the dreaded Line too long (not sure the exact wording) error, when trying to INSERT a row where a column has a text value longer than 255 bytes. If I understand correctly, I need to use a PUT to get the data into the database, but how do I define a host variable in the DBD (Perl) Implementation? Thanks for all help! Best regards, -Tim
