From what I remember they did. Just for the record, the "problem" with indexes is no problem at all, but the addition of the key-value locking feature. Please turn in your hymnals to the "Informix-OnLine Dynamic Server Migration Guide, v7.1, Dec 1994, part no. 000-7625" page 2-3: "To accommodate new features such as key-value locking the indexing scheme requires an additional one byte of disk space per index-key entry. You must rebuild all user indexes after you migrate from OnLine 4.1 or 5.0" Also, beginning on page 2-31, there is a four-page discussion of several ways to convert the indexes.
