I'm aware of the difference between "" and NULL and I would understand if the app tried to send back "", but it's sending back 1900-01-01 which I thought was odd. I'm not using VB3's DAO data access model, I'm using a third party product called Integra VDB. I don't think that Integra is the problem because I have text boxes bound to integer fields which properly send back NULL when set to "". Also, we've used Integra for years against SQL Server and SQL Anywhere back-ends and have never had a problem sending back NULLs to date fields. I'm hoping that the problem is with the Informix-CLI ODBC driver and that a patch is available. I'm still checking on that. Thanks.
