Ugh. Trying to restore an ontape backup and getting the following
error.
---start error info
Read/Write End Of Medium enabled: blocks = 99542
Please mount tape 2 on /dev/rmt0 and press Return to continue ...
<we mount the tape and press enter>
Read/Write End Of Medium enabled: missing blocks, expect 99544,
processed 99542.
Physical restore failed - function buc_fe.c : Archive API processing
failed at l
ine 791 for msgtype failed code -1 errno 0
---end error info
I have determined that its not a bad tape set and the tapes are in the
correct order. I have also tried another set of tapes just in case!
Relevant onconfig settings:
TAPEDEV /dev/rmt0
TAPEBLK 256 # Tape block size (Kbytes)
TAPESIZE 0 # should use entire tape
Strange one.
Can you dd the tapes, or second tape, out onto disk and try and restore from
that?
