Informix C-ISAM V4 SCO V5.61 Does anyone know of a method of determining the structure of C-ISAM files? Perhaps C-ISAM provides some functionality itself or can I use Informix SDK (demo3.ec) against these files. Thanks in advance... sending to informix-list
I can probably help. What exactly are you trying to do? C-ISAM v4.anything is pretty archaic. Raw C-ISAM files contain little information about the data inside. You can use bcheck to establish the indexed fields (types and positions within the record), which can be helpful but is seldom complete. It also tells you the record length. This often allows you to eyeball the (hex) dump of the data file and determine where the field must be. If the C-ISAM files are used in conjunction with SE, then the systables.data and syscolumns.dat files tell you about the structure of the tables - table names, number of columns, types and names of each column and so on. This is a whole heap easier to deal with. -- Jonathan Leffler #include <disclaimer.h> Email: jleffler@earthlink.net, jleffler@us.ibm.com Guardian of DBD::Informix v2003.04 -- http://dbi.perl.org/
Use dbschema from SE5/7.
Set before DBPATH variable to directory containing ISAM files.
