The most likely problem is that you only installed the software. You did
not configure an ODS environment - Specifying the name of a raw disk
your Unix admin has prepared for the database. Creating a link to the
junk name supplied in the onconfig.std is not a sign of a good start.
Last I heard, Informix had a support office in Milan. I don't know how
far that is from your site but I suggest you call them.
There is a good reason why Informix has a 4-day training class for
setting up OnLine.
