MS Access / Informix connection is read-only

We have an Informix database v7.23. We are migrating an ODBC user interface from MS Access v2.0 under Win3.11 (WFWG) to MS Access v7.0 under NT4.0. We do not understand why the database is read-only under Access v7.0. A search mostly shows that people usually want to make it read-only, but in this case we want to be able to change the database as we can with the Access v2.0 Database with MS Access. The NT4.0 system is using Informix-CLI v2.5 driver (IVINF709.DLL) by Intersolv for ODBC. The Win3.11 is using a Visigenic Informix5 driver (VSIFMX5.DLL) by Visigenic Software for ODBC. In Access 2.0 the connect string says: DSN=qa_test_110; Hostname=m4; Service=ssd3_0_tcp; Database=qa_test_110; In Access 7.0 the connect string says: DSN=qa_test_110; DATABASE=qa_test_110; HOST=m4; SERVER=ssd3_0_tcp; SERVICE=ssd3_0_tcp; PROTOCOL=onsoctcp; SRVR=ssd3_0_tcp Does anyone know what we may have have setup incorrectly? We can connect with Access 7.0 but all the tables are read-only. The user-id we are using to connect is the same for Access v2.0 and Access v7.0. In addition if we access the Informix database with this user-id we can update the data base. Howard
