If anyone has a working Pcap/Fcap file, or can help me to understand what I am meddling with, please email to me. A short introduction to my problems: In the UNIPLEX editor, I can put printer commands like .NFSMALL (New Font, small) in the text. The program uprop, manages the printing of texts, with the aid of 2 files, Pcap (Printer capabilities) and Fcap (Font capabi..). Pcap contains a section for each different printer and entries in each section like: LEADIN=')' HDOTEND=')G ' FONTDEF='ITALIC','Times',10,'ITALIC' FONTCAPS='Courier','1-128','BOLD','X-Courier-Bold',')TE /X-Courier-Bold ',' XTF(',0 Fcap contains definitions of papersizes, and the sizes of characters for each font supported by the printers like: #A4 WIDTH=83 LENGTH=70 \\hp_jet/F/:NORMAL POINTS=10 HEIGHT=8 SIZES= 32= 680, !=480, "=600, #=1200, $=920 However, there is an entry in the Pcap file: "INITFILE=PostScript" and this file contains a postscript script, with what seems to be (I'm not to hot into the postscript language) a lot of definitions of the same things as Pcap/Fcap entries: /A4 { 210 mm 297 mm } bind def [ /Courier-BoldOblique /Courier /Courier-Bold /Courier-Oblique ] /COURIER 1 def In the UNI.. v.7 configuration guide there's an example af a Pcap entry. This is for the Apple Laserwriter. I tried punching that in, and there were improvements but some fonts didn't work at all (ITALIC). Now to the questions: Why the need for definitions in both Pcap- and Postscript file ? Is there some slight difference in the definitions of Laserwriter and Laserwriter II, so a few adjustments in Pcap or Postscript will do the trick ? Have I misunderstood everything ? Thanks in advance, Jim
