Dear Tam O'Shanter, Can you elaborate on the information you are expecting to find from the system catalog. You might note that there is (obtuse) code in the SQLCMD code that handles INFO statements. The source is downloadable from the IIUG Software Archive (http://www.iiug.org/software). The file sqlinfo.ec file - backed up by the code in sqlownobj.ec - has queries that answer a good many of the Informix INFO queries. That might form a basis for your work, or you might do something completely different. Note that the SQLCMD code deals with some obnoxious problems (other than The Clown) related to MODE ANSI databases. > "Tam OShanter" <tam@oshanter.com> wrote: > > Struggling to find a command similar to DESC in Oracle and sp_help in SQL > > Server/Adaptive Server for Informix. > > > > I've seen mention of INFO TABLE but cannot seem to get it to work. > > Typing INFO TBALE FOR <tablename> produces syntax errors when I try to use > > it. -- Jonathan Leffler #include <disclaimer.h> Email: jleffler@earthlink.net, jleffler@us.ibm.com Guardian of DBD::Informix v2005.02 -- http://dbi.perl.org/
