Using IDS 9.30 on an HP-UX 11.0 box, not that it matters today. I wanted to know if I could build a dynamic sql using SPL. I want to select 2 valuesfrom a table and then use those 2 values in a select statements between clause. Can this be done? TIA, Kevin
I don't think u are using the term dynamic sql
correctly.
Dynamic sql is that sql where the SELECT can be different columns or FROM can
be
different tables or WHERE can be different. Something similar to PREPARE in
ESQL/C.
If I understand correctly, this is what u want to do
select col_1,col_2
into w_1,w_2
from table_a
select ....
from table_b
where col_3 between w_1 and w_2 .
the above can be done easily in SPL.
