Getting grant error when selecting

Hello, I am trying to select a column from a table and am getting error # -19806. WHich is odd cause I an selecting under the informix account (I think) and I have granted all permissions to public. The odder thing is it only pertains to certain rows. I try again to select the row that caused the error and get it again, everytime. Does anyone know how I can resolve this? By the way I'm using ESQL/C 2.11 and am not sure which user it uses to log into the database with, I assume it's the user logged into the machine, ANd I'm logged in as informix on a Unix System V version 4 release 3. Are you sure of that error? Error -19806 is returned when you enter: GRANT connect TO some_role_name; to grant database level (connect, resource, dba) priveleges to a role name rather than a user name. It is not returned from a select statement! Post the schema (from myschema or dbschema -ss) for the table, SELECT statement, and the exact output you are seeing. Art S.
