Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

Hi,
I have an Informix Online5 server on a HP Box and a IDS(Online7) server on a
separate HP Box.
(Both are connected via the LAN).
I want to set up I-STAR so that the DB's in both servers can talk to each
other.
Can someone please tell me how to do this and if possible include examples
of what the '/etc/services', and '$INFORMIXDIR/etc/sqlhosts' should look
like on both machines.
Also what deamons should be running on both machines - I understand that
there needs to be an 'sqlexecd' daemon running for Online5 but what about
for IDS(Online7).
Regards - Adam
