Because Google is optimised for unstructured data and appalling at stuff like transaction integrity. If Google doesn't return a site when you do a search, no-one is going to die as a consequence. There is no real accountability of the data that you get back. Just because it's fast at returning *a* result set (not necessarily a complete or reliably consistent one, even) does not mean it's got any use for managing data.
