The recent deal between Oracle and Netscape spells trouble for Informix. IMO, Informix badly needs Netscape on it side or to at least remain completely neutral. However, Netscape is being hunted by both Microsoft and Oracle. Oracle needs Netscapes browser and Microsoft just wants them dead. Also, Universal Server looks very promising but they are trying to do an exceptional amount of work in a very short time period. So, its hard to believe that there won't be some problems with reliability or performance early on that will need to be ironed out. -- Randy Giese > A few questions: > > - Is Informix's market share increasing vis-a-vis Oracle, Sybase, etc..? > - Why did Informix fall from some $36 to $22 this year?
