Detached Indexes

Hi all, I saw the question concerning "detached indexes" from Dale Forrey in this NG. "Advantage/Disadvantage" of detached indexes if your table is not fragmented. Any comments to the follwing ? + detached indexes might speed up a sequential scans and key only reads. ( Sometimes indexsequential scans, too. ) + by using detached indexes you can monitor the usage of your indexes. ( you can use the sysptprof table from the SMI-database and find indexes producing only write-overhead (more writes than reads) ). Ciao, Stefan
