[?]How to limit disallow inserts in INPUT ARRAY

Dear Net.Wisdom: Fourgen uses a display array to allow updates/inserts/deletes of detail information in a header/detail screen. My problem is that I wish to allow only updates on the information displayed. Deletes have been dealt with however that leaves inserts. How do I disallow inserts? I have read over the Informix manual and suspect the AFTER ROW statement may be key to the solution. If so, the method is still escaping me at the moment.
