Haven't use that yet but you probably want to add this to: ${INFORMIXDIR}/.profile [such that ONLINE/SE have this on startup] /etc/profile [*ksh*, for all users, no need to edit one-by-one] But reading this group shows that 4GL will not use this variable until version 6.10.
