Correct. Each instance needs a distinctive port entry in the "services" file.
These entries must be identical for each networked machine involved!

Almost correct. The service name from the "services" file must be passed to
"sqlexecd" as an argument, so the startup command for sqlexecd must read
# $INFORMIXDIR/lib/sqlexecd db01srv -l $logdir/db01.log
or
# $INFORMIXDIR/lib/sqlexecd db02srv -l $logdir/db02.log
If you are connecting from a PC using I-Net, you must enter the correct
service name for the instance you want to connect to in the ODBC setup.
