Control user access to remote db, 7.22 and AIX 4.2

Hello everyone- - I am a newbie DBA working with 7.22 on AIX 4.2. - We have separate production and development servers that are networked together. - Development users cannot access production server or database. - Need to implement source code control system on development server. - The owner of source code contol system files on development server needs to access 'standard' db on production server. - Still need to prevent all other development users from accessing production server and database. - I have edited sqlhosts and /etc/services and end up with full access to production server & databases by everyone on development server. - Need users on production server to continue to have access to 'standard' db on production server. - Can I use combination of GRANT and/or REVOKE to give just source code control system user id from development server access to 'standard' db on production server? - Is there a better/preferred way to achieve this?
