can you join ANSI & non-ANSI tables?

Has anyone out there found a work around to joining tables where one is in an ANSI logging Database and the other is in an Informix non-buffered loggin database? If a join is not possible, has anyone coded a program between the two that doesn't require closing all the open transactions in one database to get information from another? Both databases are in the same tbconfig, but one is a vendor product and one is the standard in-house developed database. We are trying to avoid rewriting all the standard in house code and/or converting the standard in house databases. -- L.
