Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
F. David, restoring all dbspaces with ontape -r between two Linux servers on a roughly 2GB database, saw onstat show Fast Recovery (CKPT REQ) with no further checkpoints for over an hour. John Carlson asked whether the command had returned (it had not) and suggested running onstat -D in another session. No outcome in the thread.

Hello,
I am trying to do a cold restore for all DBSpaces from one Server to
another(both Linux 7.0). I did an
ontape -rI mounted the tape
Continue restore?(Y/N) Y
Do you want to backup the logs?(Y/N) N
The first Checkpoints in online.log were made, but then onstat - gives
Fast Recovery(CKPT REQ) and no more Checkpoint is done. I waited more
than 1 hour. The database is about 2Gb.
Is there anything I can do to finish the restore?
Regards
Fredo David

Did the ontape command return to the command line?

Then in another session run 'onstat -D'. this shows the dbspace
status and any disk activity.
