INFORMIX-OnLine Version 7.12.UC1
AIX ***** 1 4 ***********
Hi Family.
I have run into an anomaly on an AIX machine. Normally, even as a
vanilla user, I can run onstat commands and even get a limted menu
onmonitor.
On this system, onstat earns me the above message. If I try to run
onmonitor, I get:
Unable to attach to shared memory.
Permission denied
YARGHHHhhhh!!
What could possible be causing this grief? I have compared the ipcs -m
output on another AIX system:
Where I have no problem:
m 36865 0x52574801 --rw-rw---- root informix
m 36866 0x52574802 --rw-rw---- root informix
m 16387 0x52574803 --rw-rw-rw- root informix
m 8196 0x52574804 --rw-rw---- root informix
m 4102 0x52574805 --rw-rw---- root informix
m 7 0x52574806 --rw-rw---- root informix
And on the system where I can't do it:
m 20481 0x52574801 --rw-rw---- informix informix
m 20482 0x52574802 --rw-rw---- informix informix
m 4101 0x52574803 --rw-rw-rw- informix informix
No significant difference I can see.
So wazzamatta?
Thanks.
