ODBC Access to Informix

I am trying to use MSQuery on a Windows PC to get to an Informix database on a Unix box across a lan. I can make it work except that I need to use the Unix root id and password. Is there some server setting that I need to make to allow this? The other IDs i have been trying have permission to access these databases from within Unix but not when I come from the PC. I'm using the Intersolv ODBC on the Windows side. Geoff
