I get this error when I try to drop a table. Informix version 11.50.FC5 we
have HDR setup. I have tried to stopping the replication "onmode -d standard",
shutting down seconday server after stopping replication.
-19816: Cannot perform this operation on a table defined for replication

Any ideas?
Thanks,
The error message/code has nothing to do with your HDR replication which
permits dropping a table. Either the table in question is defined as a
replicated table using Enterprise Replication or there is an active Change
Data Capture (CDC) session open that is using the CDC API to capture changes
made to that table.

Hi,
When I run the finderr command it returns a little more info then you
supplied.
-19816 Cannot perform this operation on a table defined for
replication.
The specified operation cannot be performed on a table if Enterprise
Replication is defined on the table. If you want to perform the
specified operation, you must delete all replicates defined on this
table.
If the table is being captured using the Change Data Capture interface,
then you must use CDC API functions to stop data capture and disable
full row logging on the table.
The above error indicates you are using Enterprise Replication, The text
you sent talks about command "onmode -d standard" an HDR or High
availability Data Replication command.
Are you using both ? together ?
You need to either stop and drop the repl for that table ( if you are using
CRD or Enterprise replication ) or you need to stop the CDC interface for
that table.
HDR does not care about table drops, it just replicates them to the
secondary, RSS, SDS servers..
George.

We are not using Enterprise Replication, just HDR. We have CDC but there is no CDC sessions running on the server. Where else should I look? Thanks for the response.

Thank you for pointing me to look at disable full row logging on the table.
I ran this function and then I was able to drop the table.
execute function informix.cdc_set_fullrowlogging('<database>:<schema>.<tablename>', 0);
Thank you very much for helping me resolve this issue.
