Some comments about our experiences with ODBC. We have a HP-9000 running..

We have pc'c running Windows for Workgroups, with Mircosoft's 32 bit TCP/IP
drivers. We are writing client end in Visual Basic. Informix's I-Net on the
pc would not work - all sorts of memory problems.. We instead run VisionWare's
SQL-Retreiver which does a good job, but.. it cannot return results of stored
procedures. Damn. This poses security problems (You revoke all permissions from
users, but give stored procedures dba permissions, enabling users to do all
table accesses through the spl's, very good security model).
My question is this - Can Informix I-Net or I-Star allow stored
procedures to return data to client processes on Windows ?
Thanks Robert Lore (rlo@fmsc.com.au)
ps Informix don't provide ODBC connectivity, as many have already said. What
a bunch of twits!
