Take a look at the DBI documentation, and follow the instructions there for the connect method. The correct syntax is: $dbh = DBI->connect("dbi:Informix:$dbname", $user, $password, {%options}); I think you somehow have "Informix" in the options... HTH, Douglas Wilson
