Determine free space in dbspace with 4.10

How is the free space within a dbspace determined with version 4.10? Two problems have occurred which do not appear to be related to the failing task (error 271 loading a table that has previously loaded successfully with the same data; error 1328 executing 4gl programs that have previously executed successfully). I suspect these problems are related to a lack of free space. My documentation is for a newer release and my administrative knowledge of Informix is very limited. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Try this: from the command line type "tbmonitor" Choose "spaces" from the ring menu Choose the dbspace you're interested in Press "Control-B" What you're looking at now is all the chunks in the chosen dbspace. Note: The pages used indicates the space that is allocated, not the space that actually has data in it. (I.E. When you create a table the extent size is how much space is allocated.) You can fill up a chunk with no data if you create your tables with very large extents. Also, check the space available in your rootdbs, that's where the temp tables are created. --------------------------------------------------------------- Aaron A.
