Use of roles in 9.14.UC1

Perhaps I'm not understanding how roles work in Informix, but I've got
a role called "myclient" to which I want to grant execute privileges.
My presumption has been that any users with that role would be able to
execute it, but it's not clear that this is the case. For example:
As the dba I perform the following SQL:
create role 'myclient';
grant 'myclient' to myuser;
grant connect to myuser;
create procedure x(); end procedure;
grant execute on x to myclient;
revoke execute on x from public;
This works fine. Then if I log on as myuser, I try statements like:
set role 'myclient';
execute procedure x();
and I receive "674: Routine (x) can not be resolved." Whereas if the
dba also does a "grant execute on x to myuser", it works fine.
What is wrong with roles, here?

(P.S. I'm using IDS w/ UDO 9.14.UC1.)
