}I don't want to include printer specific code into my 4GL or ACE sources. }So I use a small selfmade filter for adding capabilities like bold-face, }bigger and smaller print, underlining, etc. to my reports. But this filter }isn't powerfull enough. I think, that perhaps TeX is a good to for getting }much better output on every printer. The problem with TeX is, that You must }write a subroutine for replacing some letters (the braces, german "umlauts"). We currently use TeX to format letters in several different languages (English, Spanish, and Vietnamese). What we did was use TeX's \\catcode command to change it's idea of what the special characters are.
