Logical log backup and Archival of data

Hi ! Please excuse me if the following is a FAQ. I would like to hear from people on the net about how they are backing up their logical logs and the doing the archive of the data on one tape device. I am sure there are quite a lot of you out there who have done this. What I am thinking of doing is to back up the logical logs on to the disk first and then back it up on the tape. Is this the best way ? Please excuse my ignorance on the subject as I am an Informix newbie. Thanks in advance.
