If you plan to execute the statement more than once, it is quicker to prepare the statement than not. You'll want to be sure that the statement is organized within your code so that it only gets prepared once (during some type of initialization routine). Preparing a statement saves the server the additional step of parsing or validating the accuracy of the statement each time it is executed. J. Dority Seattle
