Isolation levels?

I am using 7.3 on NT
I have looked in the Informix Guide to SQL: Syntax and on page 1-741 it
lists all the supported transaction isolation levels.
It lists Read uncommited
exec sql begin work;
set isolation to dirty read;
or
exec sql begin work;
exec sql set transaction isolation level read committed;
Yet, if I try to connect via ODBC (using ODBC Test) and set the isolation
level I get the following:
SQLSetConnectAttr:
In: ConnectionHandle = 0x00D31620,
Attribute = Conn: SQL_ATTR_TXN_ISOLATION=108, ValuePtr =
SQL_TXN_REPEATABLE_READ=4, StringLength = SQL_IS_INTEGER=-6,
fAttribute Type = SQL_C_SLONG=-16
Return: SQL_ERROR=-1
Errors All:
: szSqlState = "HYC00", *pfNativeError = 0, *pcbErrorMsg = 66
szErrorMsg = "[INTERSOLV][ODBC Informix driver]Optional feature
not implemented."
desc: szSqlState = "HY007", *pfNativeError = 0, *pcbErrorMsg = 70
MessageText = "[INTERSOLV][ODBC Informix driver]Associated
statement is not prepared."
I am doing something wrong?
TIA
Dave
David,
You can set isolation levels at connect-time if you use the Openlink
driver (www.openlinksw.com). The multi-tier driver suite gives you the
ability to specify a filename for the Openlink Database Agent to use at
connect time that can include any Informix-specific SQL like:
> exec sql begin work;
> set isolation to dirty read;>
> or
> exec sql begin work;
> exec sql set transaction isolation level read committed;
