The interesting thing is that someone set this variable on my system, and it is actually being used by the engine (7.31) I disabled it, so that file that were created here, can now be created in either /tmp or my temp dbspaces. For temporary files ids will use: PSORT_DBTEMP if not defined he will check DBSPACETEMP environment var, if not defined will check DBSPACETEMP in the ONCONFIG, if not defined will use /tmp. used for the following operations: ORDER BY/GROUP BY UNIQUE/DISTINCT, SORT-MERGE-Join, Hash table, Index builds, Logical log files during a warm restore For temporary tables ids will use DBSPACETEMP environment variables if not defined will check the DBSPACETEMP configuration parameter if not defined rootbds used for the following operations: INTO TEMP statement CREATE TEMP TABLE BLOB
