automating database update

Hello,
Could kind gurus out here help me with this?
I maintain a system where SCO OpenServer 5.0.2 and Informix SE5.06UC2
are teamed up to monitor and process our outgoing phone/fax calls by
logging the raw data on the campus PABX. Recently, there has been the
need for us to access the phone call database from workstations running
Windows. We do not have I-Net so we can't connect to SCO box directly.
In the interim period before the proper upgrade I temporarily work
around by:
-install SE7.2 on a RedHat5.2 box
-install ClientSDK (I-Connect + Intersolv ODBC3.xx) on workstations
-dbexport the main database from SCO/SE5.06 and dbimport into
RedHat/SE7.2
-workstations connect to RedHat box to access the phone database
Daily, there is a table which details the phone calls on that particular
day added to the database on SCO box. The size of the database is about
400MB at the initial export/import so doing subsequent export/import is
not practical. To update the table on RedHat box I use
UNLOAD/dbschema/LOAD to do the job manually. It is not a complicated
work to do a table each day but it is quite tedious. My first question
here is, can someone suggest the methodology to automate this process?
UNLOAD/LOAD (as the relevant manuals described) requires DB-access and
it is beyond my knowledge of shell-scripting/cron schedule to make it
work.
Second question concerns Informix license of SE7.2 for Linux
(ACN#A287337/BECZJK). During the installation, If I'm not wrong, I saw
the message flashed across the screen somewhere saying that the license
will be alive upto 31/Dec/1998. What will happen afterward? It's a worry
as our schedule for the upgrade won't come along till around March of
next year. I apologize if this issue was addressed in this forum before
and I missed it somehow.
Thanks
Ampon.
