We're considering porting our NewEra application to the DataDirector for Java. Currently, DataDirector for Java does not support the Informix Standard Engine. As I understand it, the whole purpose of Java is to "write once, run anywhere", and we were hoping that the DataDirector for Java would be following that and be able to run on all databases. I understand it has some features that are not in the Standard Engine, so we would not be utilizing those. We want to give our current clients who do run the standard engine to be able use our Java GUI front-end. I would appreciate any comments on this product.
