Not an option. I have to resolve this issue without ESQL/C or C in general. Both Unix systems are sort of dedicated workstations without any development or GNU stuff on. If nothing else works, I will have to unload respective collumns, modify them using unix utilities (awk) and load them back in. Thanks anyway.
