On-Line engine administration/capabilities

Hello, I've been working with the Informix SE for about 4.5 years now and am considering switching to On-Line for performance reasons. What I'd like to know is (in as much detail as possible), what sort of administrative duties are involved in creating/maintaining an On-Line engine as opposed to the standard engine. With SE, the data lives on top of the OS file system as oppose to raw disk, so I assume there are a number of issues involving reserving disk space. I've heard the admin job goes from being very minimal to almost a full time job when comparing SE and On-Line, is this true? What are the extra tasks involved in data integrity, admin, security, etc? One last question, what are the benefits aside from performance and addition of BLOB's? Thanks for any help you may be able to provide....
