Each }user can run this report at any given time. Before this report is run, } }people run this report together the reports then merge, because it would }use the same tables. I don't really understand this explanation at all. }The solution that I came up with was to create the table based on the users }name. The problem with this is that I cannot seem to pass this to the ace }report. The setup that I am using is } define } param[1] username char (8) } end } }reportj select * } from $username } end You can only supply values for comparisons/filters in the select statement. To do what you want, you'd have to use a shell script which took the user's name and created a report (.ace) file on the fly with the user's name where the table name goes. It would then compile and run the report. }I am using Informix 4.0/4.1. Any help would be appreciated. } }a script is run that creates the table used in the ace report. If two Oh... Does this line belong up at the top where there is the funny blank line in your message? That more or less makes sense, then. And the reportj in front of the SELECT is just an editing error too. Why can't you use a temporary table (or several of them) in the report? Temporary tables cannot be shared, so even if 30 users each run this report simultaneously, any temporary tables are private to each user. Then you wouldn't have to compile the report each time it was run. Yours, Jonathan Leffler (johnl@obelix.informix.com) #include <disclaimer.h>
