Sorry, that feature was implemented only in the version ported to my
imagination. |-:
Anyway, what I *meant* was that a named pipe could probably be used in that
context (I haven't tried it myself). Or, you can write an Ace report that
outputs in unload format (use TOP MARGIN 0, BOTTOM MARGIN 0, PAGE LENGTH 1
and PRINT just the data and delimiters).

Actually, your solution is great (assuming 4.X). I forgot about the
"without headings" directive. In a quick 4.0 test, I still get blank lines
before the data even with WITHOUT HEADINGS; I can't tell if that's proper
behavior, my manuals are still packed up...

There were some problems in .03 and earlier tools with poor handling of
suspend signals; all known ones were fixed in 4.0.
