Finocchio explained actions being taken to correct policies and reasons for restating 1996 transactions. Additionally, Finocchio made references to hiring additional executive staff, working on operation skills and execution performance within the company, and keeping a strong position in advanced technology. "There's tremendous customer support for the product," Finocchio said in the interview. "I think the marketplace in general wants our company to thrive and be successful." "Informix's challenges are not ones of 'Does the product work?' or 'Is there a market there?'," said Informix CEO and president Robert Finocchio. INFORMIX-Universal Server will be used to deliver multiple data types to all devices across any network. The two companies will first target their combined solution for the telecommunications market; pricing will begin at $108. The company said it will restate its 1996 financial results due to errors in the recording of revenue. The reported second-quarter figure includes a charge of $62.1 million due to personal reductions of certain assets.
