Implicitly defined ROWIDs are no longer available in the DSA engines. This is because the tables can be fragmented across multiple DBSpaces and the concept of a ROWID to identify a row location is just not possible. However, the good news is that you can have explicitly defined ROWIDs if you define them when you create the database. They are basically another index into the table. We have rewritten our code to access the data by primary key instead of ROWID and have not had a significant increase in search time. In fact, the fragmentation strategy afforded by DSA has given us better response times in *SOME* cases. Keith Howard Director, CMS Technologies Reynolds+Reynolds 708.297.2300 x332
