An alternative to the relay module is local loopback network connection (TLI or SOC). We use 4.x tools with 7.x engine using this method. We tried the relay module, but it was incredibly slow and a resource hog, to the point of being unusable. Obviously, a shared memory connection is going to be the fastest. -Johnny ---------- From: informix-list-owner To: informix-list Subject: Re: System tuning Date: Thursday, April 04, 1996 6:21PM brian@asl-labs.bc.ca (Brian Hampson) writes: >Joan Armstrong (joana@vcd.hp.com) wrote: >: informix@asl3.asl-labs.bc.ca (Informix Sysadmin) writes: > >That's me^ > >: >Same application suite. DSA = Dynamic Server Architecture == Online version 6.0 and greater. For example, are you using an app compiled with I4GL 4.11 connecting to an engine verion 7.12? If so, you have to use the relay module and will see a slowdown. --Joan -- .............................................................
