Installation of IBM Informix Dynamic Server failed. etc/brand: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Please read the information below. ***** Error occurred during installation. Please refer to log file for details. Get the error above. doing slocate libstdc++.so.5 shows that I have multiple instances on my harddrive but for some reason the install doesn't see them. How do i point the program to them or what other workarounds are available for the problem. I've installed libaio64 as the manual requies btw. thanks you very much.

Give us a chance to help you - identify your platform and its version. I suspect you have some version of Linux - but at this stage, only you know for sure. If it is Linux, you might need to specify where your libstdc++.so.5 files are via /etc/ld.so.conf or some similar file. Processes run by root tend to ignore LD_LIBRARY_PATH. -- Jonathan Leffler #include <disclaimer.h> Email: jleffler@earthlink.net, jleffler@us.ibm.com Guardian of DBD::Informix v2007.0914 -- http://dbi.perl.org/ publictimestamp.org/ptb/PTB-1605 sha256 2007-10-23 03:00:03 55965C2F12BE4533BD697C9C641A17EE59BE691C6CB178D33E0AACA527F0CC27
